CBC Symphony Orchestra
[edit]The CBC also formed the CBC Symphony Orchestra in Toronto in 1952, relying heavily on members of the Toronto Symphony. The ensemble had weekly broadcasts until it was disbanded in 1964.
- I'm wondering how this squares with the dates for Arthur Benjamin, who, according to my sources, conducted the orchestra from 1941 to 1946, in which time he presented "literally hundreds" of Canadian premieres. Was this a different orchestra that went by the same name, "CBC Symphony Orchestra"? -- JackofOz (talk) 06:56, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
