Franchisee/licensee name
[edit]It's not clear from this article whether the C&P name is still used for legal purposes. In some markets, Verizon continues (or continued until recently) to be licensed under its old BOC subsidiary names, such as New England Telephone. Was that ever the case in the four C&P jurisdictions? 121a0012 (talk) 07:26, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Merger
[edit]On December 28, 2012, Verizon Maryland, Inc., headquartered at 1 East Pratt Street in Baltimore, merged into a “Verizon Maryland Merge Co.,” headquartered in Delaware. Both of these companies (to the best of my knowledge) are Verizon Communications subsidiaries. What is the significance (if any) of this merger? (In 2011, Verizon Virginia, Inc. underwent a “conversion.” Is Verizon simply merging different subsidiaries of itself together, or is there more significance to this?)
