Erroneous Former Name
[edit]Some charts incorrectly list this as "Bibber Island" (seen on USGS edition of Apr 1892 reprint of Aug 1911). The story I've heard (which may be apocryphal) is that when the map makers were passing the island, and the seas were a bit rough, they called to a man on the island, asking "What's the name of that island?". The man thought they were asking his name, and replied "Bibber". David Garfield (talk) 02:15, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
