- 81.139.179.141 (talk) Hello there. I am more than happy to receive specific feedback on what parts of the information you find unsourced. After your first edits, I specifically re-read the wikipedia guidelines and verified how other academic institutions share information and I am confident that the last edits which were made on 8th August 2014 are corresponding to the rules of Wikipedia. The BSL website has been removed from the list of sources. In addition, the information is written in an objective and neutral manner. To conclude, I would appreciate if you could give me specific feedback and quote precisely what parts of the information you find biased. Glad to collaborate with you on this one. ––Denitsa.marinova
encyclopedia vs. advertising
- page looks very much like a full promotional ad whereas Wikipedia is a place for encyclopaedic knowledge. Please do take that into consideration and help the project in this way. This page still needs some toning down (some pictures are not really useful), but above all in need of sources - especially requesting this towards Denitsa.marinova contributing as a payed user, but also to ip users, Robertschwarz Janasommer Mean_as_custard Auditguy thank-you 77.75.125.106 (talk) 14:12, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hello 77.75.125.106. I actually started contributing a few months ago but wouldn't patrol on the page since then. I am going to take a closer look at it and try my best to mitigate and remove promotional content as well as adding as many sources as possible. Let me know if I can be of any further help, sincerely Janasommer (talk) 17:11, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- Following Denitsa.marinova's message on my talk page with a request to contact her at info@bsl-lausanne.ch - please note that I have edited the page to remove blatant advertising and repetitive content. In the meantime, I have also added more than 15 sources to improve and support the article. I think the article is now better balanced and getting there. I would propose Denitsa.marinova to review wikipedia guidelines and maybe let’s have a few more editors in here…Janasommer (talk) 08:36, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Janasommer. I do appreciate your efforts in improving the BSL wikipedia page. I do not, however, understand why the following parts have been removed when they present factual information which is proved with external references. The following lines are consistently deleted by you and I need to understand why: "BSL ranks #3 in Switzerland and among the Top 30 business schools in Europe [1] in the QS Global 200 Business Schools Report 2014-15 [2]. BSL offers various academic programs including a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program, Master's programs in Business and Finance with specialization options, a full-time and part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, a Doctorate of Business Administration program, and several Executive Education programs, including an executive MBA." "BSL was founded in 1987 by Dr. John Hobbs and had its programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in 1996." "The school is specialized in providing business and management education with emphasis on sustainability, responsible leadership, and entrepreneurship.[3] Flagship program in sustainability is the one-year executive Diploma in Sustainable Business, a joint program of BSL and University of St. Gallen." "BSL’s mission is “to provide a learning platform for individuals and organizations to thrive by co-creating viable business solutions for our planet and its people.” In addition, Janasommer, you have deleted the complete Alumni Section which is a standard section for all university pages. I am very open to have discussions about that and avoid having to police the page on a daily basis, but I do need to understand what your reasoning is to keep deleting the lines above. Please come back with specific feedback rather than mass-deleting whole sections of the BSL page. Denitsa.marinova 11:08, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hello again Denitsa.marinova. First of all, each and every point you mention is stated exactly how you specify it in the article. So it seems the issue is that you wish to multiply this content for promotional reasons. This is not the reason for which wikipedia exists. Secondly, in regards to the mission advertising slogan, what is source, and especially WP:ROC of this? Finally, regarding the alumni section, you are right, I might have made a mistake here - can you provide WP:Reliable so those can be readded? zero sources were provided for that so far. Thank you for your understanding, Janasommer (talk) 12:00, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- As you noticed, I am systematically reverting advertising contents Denitsa.marinova. Please go through the Beginners guide to Wikipedia and do read a few articles about promotional content on wikipedia ( WP:NOT is an important resource ). I will continue to patrol this page to ensure this is not an advertising guide and to make sure it portrays the organisation neutrally. 77.75.125.104 (talk) 16:53, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
