Most of the sources I saw on this issue surrounds the enforcement methods the City uses for these bus lanes. Perhaps the article should be titled New York City Bus Lane Enforcement. Caseeart (talk) 05:20, 4 March 2015 (UTC) I edited the controversy section seems a bit too big but I followed the secondary sources which are mainly controversial subjects. I am not sure.Caseeart (talk) 06:34, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Bus Lanes
[edit]@Tdorante10 and Epicgenius: There have been several projects to add or improve bus lanes over the past several years, and yesterday the mayor put out a plan to do more of the same. In addition, there are improvements on 14th Street. I feel as though this article needs to be restructured. In addition, we need more information on the installation of bus lanes in the 1970s and the 1980s, including on the 49th Street/50th Street Transitway, which provided lanes for taxis and buses, but were removed later on. Thanks again for all your work on bus articles! I have been very busy of late and still am busy so I have not been able to do as much editing as I would have wanted to. Thanks in advance.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 21:49, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
- Kew Gardens 613, Thanks for the find. I'm busy over the weekend, but I will take a look when I have time. I've heard of the 14th Street improvements for the M14 SBS in June. epicgenius (talk) 02:30, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
- Queue-jump signals at three locations on West Tremont and an eastbound curbside bus/bike lane between Morris and Webster Avenues, including a section between Morris and Grand Concourse replacing a parking lane, and an offset bus lane between Anthony Avenue and Valentine Avenue replacing a travel lane
- Offset bus lanes replacing travel lanes on University Avenue in both directions from Tremont Avenue to Washington Bridge. Parking will be moved adjacent to the bus lanes to allow the bike lanes to become protected. Parking will be replaced at bus stops with bus boarding islands. North of Tremont, the shared bike/travel lanes will be replaced by offset shared bike/bus lanes. Boarding islands will be installed at stops. At University Avenue and Fordham heading north, queue jump/right turn bay lane will be installed, a separate travel lane will be stripped, and a striped bike lane will be painted. As part of the project, queue jump signals might be installed in both directions. In addition, additional traffic lights might be installed.
