Wood
[edit]Burton is the location of a wood. The Elm Tree public house is named after a tree in the wood. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.114.61.86 (talk) 04:03, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

History - clarifications wanted
[edit]Two clarifications are welcome on the following:
The population of the parish of Burtonwood continued to grow in 1951 partly due to the arrival of the United States Air Force (USAF) personnel and the but dropped from 8,238 to 4,899 in 1971,...
It appears there is a word or more missing between "personnel and the" and "but dropped from".
Nowadays, there is work being done on the station and two of the camps have been knocked down. This is because of the Omega Project.
These uncited sentences lacks some elucidation as to what the Omega Project (which has no wiki article) is/was, as this is unfamiliar to someone like me not living locally.Cloptonson (talk) 06:57, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
