I'll review this one within 7 days! In the meantime, I would appreciate a review of one I recently put up if you are up to it. Regards.--NØ 10:59, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • Capitalize the "D" in Deluxe and put italics around the bracket so it isn't italicized in the infobox.
  • There's a MOS:SANDWICH issue with the infobox and the Background and recording section currently. While not mandatory for GAs, this could be fixed by sending the picture to the right side.
  • Is it necessary to bold "Gasoline" in the lead if the song was never released under that title?
  • "Jahlil Beats handled the production, while he co-wrote it with the rappers and Alexander Izquierdo" → "Jahlil Beats handled the production, and co-wrote it with the rappers and Alexander Izquierdo"
  • "It was released in digital download and streaming formats as the second single for the album on" → "It was released for digital download and streaming, as the second single for the album, on"
  • "In the lyrics of the song, Mill and Big Sean offer encouragement of burning." → "In the lyrics of the song, Mill and Big Sean encourage listeners to burn" maybe?
  • Billboard is not a part of the Bubbling Under chart's name so it could be removed
  •  Not done the chart is published by Billboard, which can be simplified by mentioning the magazine here.
  • "On October 10, 2012, an accompanying music video was released, set in a warehouse. It shows Mill and Big Sean accompanied by models, crocodiles, and vehicles, with the cars exploding." → "The music video was released on October 10, 2012, which shows Mill and Big Sean accompanied by models in a warehouse, along with crocodiles, vehicles, and exploding cars."

Background and recording

[edit]
  • "Mill contacted Big Sean to work together on "Burn", marking one of the multiple collaborations between Maybach and GOOD rappers." → "Mill contacted Big Sean to work together on "Burn", following several other collaborations between Maybach and GOOD rappers."
  • "three days before it was included on Mill's ninth mixtape Dreamchasers 2" → "three days before it was released alongside Mill's ninth mixtape Dreamchasers 2" since its inclusion was probably decided upon earlier.
  • "crafting it as a continuation of the song and fellow Mill single" → "crafting it as a continuation of the song and Mill's single"
  • "Jahlil Beats recalled that he first formed the song" → "Jahlil Beats first formed the song"

Composition and lyrics

[edit]
  • "Throughout the song, Mill and Big Sean perform back and forth" → "During their performance on the song, Mill and Big Sean go back and forth"
  • "the rappers implore to "let that shit burn!"" - I'd add "listeners" after implore here as well

Release and reception

[edit]
  • "The song was released to digital download and streaming formats in the US as the second single for the album by Maybach and Warner Bros. on September 11, 2012." → "The song was released for digital download and streaming in the US, as the second single for the album, by Maybach and Warner Bros. on September 11, 2012."
  • "with general praise for the chemistry of Mill and Big Sean" → "with general praise for Mill and Big Sean's chemistry"
  • "He said the instrumental's "ferocious energy" is matched by Mill and Big Sean, whose differences make them a powerful duo, with the latter being known for "humor and flash without much muscle" and the former for "grit and aggression" with a lack of wit; he concluded that their styles compliment each other." - This is a long sentence so you could split the parts before and after the semicolon
  • "that it features the mixtape's best rapping with "Sean's witty rhymes" and concluded of his yacht lyrics: "Anchors aweigh!" - comma after the first quote
  • "Jordan Sargent from Pitchfork considered if "Burn" is the best track" - There seems to be an error here
  • Remove Billboard from the Bubbling Under chart here as well.
  • "for the week of August 4, 2012" → "for the issue dated August 4, 2012"
  • Add the year after the October 30 date

Music video and other usage

[edit]
  • Add the year after the October 10 date
  • "where Big Sean joins Mill and they are accompanied by female models" → "where Big Sean and female models join Mill"

Charts

[edit]
  • Looks good!

Certifications

[edit]
  • Good. I hope the ability to make these unsortable is added to the template soon, lol.

References

[edit]
  • Ref 27 should cite MTV News as publisher.
  • Great work with the refs! This part is perfectly formatted.
