My Great Grandfather JL Burley died in 1966 and left Burley Ltd to my Grandfather John Burley, who alegedly got into some bad gambling debts, some unexpected pregancies to some women that he was not married to, had to sell out Burley Ltd and after deserting my Grandmother and fleeing to South Africa (was big news in the Perth newspapers at the time, as divorce was not what it is now) he returned to Australia and died in Melbourne in the 1980's, thus ending the last Burley who had a majority ownership of the company, all but for a short time. My uncle Joe still retains some shares, however Sekem is in the majority the owner.
Merge
[edit]I propose that Burley football be merged into Burley-Sekem as one is the predecessor of the other and they both basically contain the same information. —Moondyne 03:56, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
