His parentage
[edit]Europäische Stammtafeln does not appear to agree that his father was Adalbert II of Tuscany; it instead calls Burchard I a son of an Adalbert II who was count in Alpgau and in the Thurgau, and who is clearly an entirely different individual. If ES is correct, this article appears to conflate the two Adalberts.pnh (talk) 11:36, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
Claim that he's an ancestor of QEII is seemingly questionable
[edit]First, a disclaimer: I don't know anything about this beyond what I've read here in Wikipedia in the past few minutes. So instead of changing it myself, I'm just going to make this note on this talk page, and hope that eventually someone who knows what they're talking about notices.
This page claims that "He is a direct ascendant of Queen Elizabeth II." This contradicts other information on Wikipedia. The idea seems to be that his son Burchard II, Duke of Swabia was the father of Theodoric I of Wettin. Meanwhile, if you start at Elizabeth II and click on her father, then his father, then his, and on and on, you eventually get to Theodoric I of Wettin.
However, Theodoric I's page claims that his ancestry is unknown. It furthermore says that there's been a lot of speculation about it, and that Burchard II is speculated to be his father. However, two other people are also speculated to be his father, and there's no conclusive evidence for any of the three of them.
Also, both Theodoric's page and the page for the House of Wettin claim that Theodoric I is the earliest known ancestor. Moreover, the page of Burchard II (the man supposedly between Burchard I and Theodoric) makes no mention of Theodoric, Wettin, Elizabeth, or any such thing.
So, it seems to me that the claim on this page, that Burchard I is an ancestor of QEII, is at best not known to be factual. Again, though, the only thing I know about this is what I've read here in the past few minutes, so I'm not going to change it myself. Rwv37 (talk) 19:41, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
