Wrong name

[edit]

There is some confusion on the townships Bura East and Bura West on Wikipedia. The towns are located about 50 km North of Hola (and not as, for instance, is stated in Bura, Tana River County 1 km from Hola. The coordinates of the airport are given correctly in this article, but the name is wrong as this airport is located at Bura West and not at Bura East. The airport was constructed in the late seventies as part of the Bura Irrigation and Settlement Project. Generally speaking there exists misunderstanding on Bura, Bura East and Bura West in the various Wikipedia articles. Bura is also the name of an administrative division in Garissa County. The headquarters of this administrative area are located in Bura East, but the larger part of Bura East township, if not all, is located in Tana River District as the border of Tana River County (formerly Tana District) is not the river as some people erroneously think, but roughly three miles of land along the Tana River are part of Tana River County. It is not impossible that a long time ago there existed a very small landing strip at Bura East, but if there was such a strip it has not been used by planes for very many years. Visitors who arrive by plane for Bura East land at Bura West airport and then travel by car to Bura East.

Note that there exist also a Bura in Taita Taveta County. To prevent post to be delivered to the wrong area, the postal-code for Bura West is Bura-Tana 70104. There is no other postal-code in Kenya with Bura in its name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jerome KL (talkcontribs) 12:20, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
