Bunya Creek Provisional School - not anywhere near Bunya Creek
[edit]Bunya Creek Provisional School opened circa 1881. On 1 January 1909, it became Bunya Creek State School. It closed in 1928 due to low student numbers.[1] I could not find this school on historic maps in the area of Bunya Creek today. Early newspaper mentions of this school occur in the Gympie newspapers, which seemed strange (I would have expected them in the Maryborough newspapers). People associated with the establishment school who appear in the electoral rolls seem to be in the Gympie area, near Imbil. Then I found out that Bunya Creek is a previous name for Kandanga, so I think this school is not in the locality but is an early school in the Kandanga area. So I have removed it from the article until I can get clarity on this. Kerry (talk) 02:39, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
