Does this still go on?

Does anyone know if bull-baiting still exists anywhere in the world, whether legally or not? I can't really see farmers in the UK donating their animals for such a purpose. XYaAsehShalomX 23:04, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Not a hundred years or more in England. This was a public or commercial activity, you can'treally do it without someone noticing. Bulls are bread to breed not fight. Pubic taste in entertainment changed. This was originally done to improve the quality of the meat, but belief in effectiveness of/becessity for that also changed. There's a link about Scientology bull-baiting pointing to an article about auditing, yet in the referred article the word bull-baiting isn't even mentioned. Auditing is not bull-baiting. Scientology

I think the link to Auditing/Scientology should be restored; and probably the reference should be included in the Scientology article. A google search for bull-baiting & Scientology shows a lot of references that the Scientology practice is referred to in this way. This article is garbage in its current form. The definition provided has nothing to do with the modern usage of the term. Does Scientology control Wikipedia now? Whoever removed the real definition has severely weakened Wikipedia's relevance. Nathan hawks (talk) 18:48, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

catch dogs

Should this article mention the use of catch dogs as described in the catch dog, bulldog, and American bulldog articles? I'm no historian, but it seems that the sport of bull-baiting may have grown out of the use of working dogs to control livestock, and if it didn't, it must have been the other way around.
