Bukmiri

[edit]

I'm doing research on some of the older, now absorbed in other tribes, communities. Bukmiri is one of them and there is good and competent bibliography that can be used, but this article used none of it. Whoever wrote about "Illyrian or Vlach origin" has mixed up very different eras, people and basic history. A link to the original defter that is sourced about them living in Bratonožići would be great to add some context. In terms of content, the article is at 3X of its original very limited form and I hope that it offers the basic content needed for someone who wants to read about this community.--Maleschreiber (talk) 15:32, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: I haven't found much in the defters, but there are quite a few books about Bukmiri in Bratonožići. Many of their descendants seem to have moved as Muslim Bratonožići in Petnjica, Berane, generally in Bihor and also Sandzak. Bihor i Korita : antropogeografska ispitivanja and Rozaje by the same author has a lot of stuff for these Orthodox-then-Muslim Bukmiri in Sandzak. It's really fascinating. For now, I'll add some stuff that can be verified online by anyone who wants to.--Maleschreiber (talk) 16:19, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Losha

[edit]

I'm not sure about Losha being included as a tribe since it redirects to Peter Losha, not the tribe. The article barely mentions anything for the tribe.Surix321 (talk) 23:21, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why you call them Albanians because they were hardly part of Albanian modern identity after 13th century?

[edit]

According to Yfull there is a Y-DNA branch of Bukumiri tribe R-Y104972, which is old at least 700 years. All members of that genetic branch are either Serbs either Montenegrins, not Albanians. According to genetics, in 13th century those people were assimilated to Slavs, and became Slavs until this days.

It is wrong to call them Albanians, because they were certainly not formed as part of modern Albanian identity. Just facts which came from genetics research. 87.116.148.4 (talk) 22:27, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
