Please help by establishing notability. We need "multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself (... but not) trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report the Internet address (... or give) a brief summary of the nature of the content (...)."

I personally believe that the large number of external links to the bugguide in wikipedia establish notability under this criterion (but others might disagree).— Preceding unsigned comment added by Agora2010 (talkcontribs)

Gurt Posh - many thanks for the changes!

I've added information regarding the total number of photos and pages on BG as well as the number of hits in 2010. These data come from the new reference [3] ("Inside Iowa State" 2011).

I would like to add (1) an explanation of the submission/ID/"frassing" processes and (2) a sentence regarding contributors and contributing editors. How many users exist in each category? Any suggestions? Would it make sense to include a picture? Perhaps the BugGuide logo?

Cleanup needed.

[edit]

Many of the reference links are dead, and, as others have posted, more notability from third-party sources is needed, and a more scholarly style is needed, rather than mere anecdotes from blogs or interviews. I've added some scientific articles referencing BugGuide, more notable papers and accomplishments can be found on: this forum --Animalparty-- (talk) 01:06, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
