- To not merge, given that these are different subjects warranting separate discussion. Klbrain (talk) 09:48, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
Seems like the same concept. Ping User:Spinningspark, suggest pinging participants of Insectoid AfD for comments here. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:34, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure that bug-eyed monsters count as insectoids. The term bug-eyed monster is certainly a well known meme whereas insectoid is not, which suggests its own page is justified. bug-eyed does not mean having eyes like a bug. It means "having bulging or protruding eyes" (Wiktionary). The picture in the article bears this out; eyes like that are nothing like insect eyes. I will concede that some bug-eyed monsters have compound eyes, but I had to go a long way into google images to find one. SpinningSpark 15:57, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Insectoid would work as a section here, but I can see that not all insectoids could be included. SpinningSpark 16:24, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Bug-eyed monsters are a cliche that refers to any weird alien with bug-eyes, and figuratively to some without bug-eyes. Insectoid aliens only includes aliens with other insectoid characteristics as well. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 10:09, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. Agree with Mike Christie. BEMs & insectoid aliens are two different items... Valerius Tygart (talk) 16:14, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
