At a minimum, there are additional categories that should be added to the redirect. Beyond that, there is enough material in the Cake Boss article and in other reliable and verifiable sources to create a standalone article about Valastro separate and apart from the show. The material about his upbringing and "most influential" ranking is the kind of material that is personal about the individual rather than related to the show. - Not done: requests for changes to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. But you should ask on Bearcat's talk page first, as he is the protecting admin. As for the categories, I can do that for you, but you need to be specific about what categories you would like to be added. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 15:33, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi. I added a picture of Valastro at a Cake Fair in Orlando, FL. It is a recent picture of him engaging with fans. Glevy017 (talk) 03:42, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
"Latino" Chef
[edit]I wonder whether calling him a Latino chef is the best option. From the Latino page's talk page, I gather that the consensus on the English Wikipedia is that the word Latino refers to Latin American people. That is why I wonder whether or not that detail on Buddy's page should be changed. Maybe it should say Italo Americano Chef or maybe italian American chef or something. Thoughts? ALS/LOU GEHRIG'S DISEASE
[edit]Dear Buddy and Family, I'm just finding out about your Mom,I'm so sorry for your loss (2017). I totally understand what your family went through. It has affected me on both sides of my family. My husband's family on his father's side there were: my husband, 4 great uncles, and his Dad. Information on the Uncle's is unclear his Dad had it for 6 months, started in his finger, died at 60 years old. My husband (14 years old) was feeding his Dad ice chips at the time at the foot of the bed while his Mom changed the sheets when he passed. My Grandmother fell broke her leg it would never heal. Finally she was diagnosed she ended up living 3 long horrible years. We took care of her at home, when she passed she was 64 years old, I was 14 years old, the same as my husband. So even knowing about our family's history we got married had 2 daughters, tried to work hard and live as GOD would have us to. Then one day my husband trips up the steps and knocks his front teeth. Within a week he has lost his voice. So I've made quick appointments with our Doctor's to have him check out. The Neurologist does 3 tests on him then says he knows exactly what is wrong and tells us what he has, I came close to passing out, it was such a shock. Then I had to tell our family. I was most worried about telling his 98 year old Mom so I called his brother and asked him to go over and tell her rather than to tell her on the phone since we lived more than 3 hours apart. Next thing I know she calls me asking me if I'm going to leave him. At first I was taking a back, than I answered her by telling her MOTHER "LET MY ACTIONS BE MY ANSWER" she said okay, and goodbye. When we had married in our vows we said "UNDER ALL CONDITIONS". Those weren't just words. I took care of my husband at home for 2 years even being disabled myself because of my devotion to him. He passed at home at the age of 62 years old (27 days/48 years earlier in the same month as his Dad). His Mother was 99 when he passed, she had already buried her oldest son, a husband, and her youngest son, still living was her middle son. She lived to be 100, she passed the following year after my husband. It's been almost 6 years now since I lost my husband (2018), I wouldn't wish that disease on anyone, it's cruel. I know it affects everyone differently however still the same. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND KEEP YOU SAFE! I WILL KEEP YOU ALL IN MY PRAYERS! 🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕
