Another Buddy Arnold
[edit]Buddy Arnold (1915-2004) was Georgie Price's (1901-1964) accompanist and arranger and a very successful gag-writer for TV comedies for decades. He usually worked with a team, writing many, many sitcoms and other shows. I have no references, but know this from personal experience. He was Georgie's daughter's godfather. Photograph
[edit]The current photo of Buddy Arnold posted by @Corkythehornetfan: is NOT Buddy Arnold (musician). Since this is a He Said / He Said situation, I will give some background and why I feel this is not the jazz musician Buddy Arnold.
I was a friend of Buddy's and worked with him on his autobiography for two years before his passing in 2003. I am in possession of many photos of Buddy and his wife Carole. These include, private casual shots, red carpet events to do with MAP and formal "Head shots" from when Buddy was an actor in the early 1990's. I also am the curator of the Buddy Arnold tribute website, www.BuddyArnold.com.
It is my strong opinion that the photo currently on the Buddy page is not a photo of Buddy Arnold (musician)...
- I would ask respectfully where this photo originates from? It simply does not appear in any "Buddy Arnold" searches, MAP/rehab websites and/or interviews (LA Times, US magazine, Rolling Stone). Where did it come from? It seems to not have any internet history besides being posted here.
- Do you know the year that the photo was taken?
- The current photo looks like a formal photo studio shot of a bank manager/executive in his late 50's. The kind of thing you would see in a bank lobby circa 1975. There is nothing in Buddy's timeline/history that would line up with a rather conservative portrait like this.
- After a 31 year drug habit and 34 arrests, Buddy was 58 when he was released from San Quentin in 1984. I have some pictures taken at a Halloween party that year when he met his wife Carole.
Thank you for your interest in Buddy. I respectfully ask you to take it down. [I have never started a TALK page so forgive me if made any format mistakes ]

- The picture was taken from here. Since Lamro is the uploader, I'll let him say more about it. My opinion: the photo there now resembles a lot to this one and this one, both of which were taken close to 2003. If you still disagree, how about you upload your own photo? Hi,
The source of the picture I uploaded is quite credible, it is an official university's website. I trust it. If anybody claims that the picture is wrong, then he has to provide a new one, from a source no less credible.

BUDDY or Buddy? Thank you for the source of the picture Lamro and @Corkythehornetfan: The website [1] you listed is VERY credible for clearly being the bio of a Henry O. “Buddy” Arnold (Nashville Theatre Director), and NOT Arnold "Buddy" Grishaver (Jazz Musician). BUDDY ARNOLD (Jazz Musician) obit here [2] is NOT BUDDY ARNOLD (Writer for Milton Berle) obit here [3] and is NOT Henry. O. "Buddy" Arnold (Nashville Theatre Director). BUDDY ARNOLD (Jazz Musician) was a Jazz Musician/30 year Heroin Addict who founded the Musician's Assistant Program and sadly died in 2003. And moreover he was married to a woman named Carole Fields-Arnold obit here [4]. By your own listed website as evidence, Buddy Arnold (Nashville Theatre Director) was actually married to a woman named Bernie still very much alive. If you like, please create a new page for Henry O. “Buddy” Arnold.
(I am sorry, have never uploaded an image before) but both the two other pictures you listed, I can vouch for them that they are in fact BUDDY ARNOLD Jazz Musician The Getty Image is a picture from Buddy's office on VIne Street. Thanks.
I knew Henry O. "Buddy" Arnold personally. That is his photo, not the saxophone player that this article is about. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.73.196.84 (talk) 01:07, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
