'Helping' Brooklyn to the Pennant
[edit]I edited the part out of the article that said Podbielan helped Brooklyn to pennants in 1949 and 1952.
First, he was not a member of the Dodgers when they went to the World Series in 1952. He had already been traded to Cincinnati. Prior to the trade, his record was 0-0 with a 18.00 ERA in 3 appearances.
Second, he was 0-1 in 7 games for the 1949 Dodgers. He did not make a World Series appearance.
There is little in those stats to say Podbielan helped Brooklyn in either 1949 or 1952.William 19:09, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
