This one has been waiting for a review for too long, so let's do it. I'll aim to be back with comments within a couple of days.--AlexandraIDV 18:57, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
Infobox
- Do you have a source for the European release date? Yes
- @Alexandra IDV: But is The Centre for Computing History sufficient as a source? —beetricks ~ 💬 · ✉️ 16:20, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
- Seems fine.--AlexandraIDV 14:26, 6 August 2021 (UTC)

- Looks fine otherwise.
Lead
- I would suggest mentioning the release years of Bubsy II and Bubsy in: Fractured Furry Tales to give some context and sense of the timeline of events Done
- In what sense is Berlyn the creator of Bubsy? Did he come up with the character? Is he a game designer? Basically, unless Bubsy 1 was a one-person project, there isn't just one creator. This applies to the part in the development section where you call him the creator, too.
- @Alexandra IDV: I suppose he was the one who came up with the idea of Bubsy (the franchise and character), this can be explained in the Development section down the Bubsy 1 article. —beetricks ~ 💬 · ✉️ 16:20, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
Gameplay
- Please mention early in this section that Bubsy 3D is a 3D platformer Done
- This isn't a game guide or manual, so mentioning what specific buttons do what seems like too much detail. Removed TMI phrases
- Is the last bit of the gameplay section not backed up by any source? Backed up
- @Alexandra IDV: They were by Playstation Datacenter refs., but they weren't reliable enough. Would this link be okay to source? [1] —beetricks ~ 💬 · ✉️ 16:01, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Beetricks: Apologies, I missed this until now. I don't know if Game Hoard is an RS - it looks like a fan/enthusiast site - but the information was covered in the PSExtreme review, so I cited that - consider this point resolved.--AlexandraIDV 14:14, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Alexandra IDV: Alright, thank you! —beetricks ~ 💬 · ✉️ 14:16, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Plot
- Space-time continuum should be hyphenated Done
Development
, with a development team that included industry veteran Marc Blank.
- this feels vague. What did Blank work on? Designing and programming- @Alexandra IDV: Do you mean in the past or during the game's development? —beetricks ~ 💬 · ✉️ 16:20, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
- Primarily what he worked on here, I guess.--AlexandraIDV 14:26, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- Looks like I've done that then. —beetricks ~ 💬 · ✉️ 01:52, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

- Similarly, I would suggest giving context for who Chuck Jones is, for readers who are not animation fans. Done
- I am assuming based on the date format
November 25, 1996
and the fact that both the developer and publisher are from the US that this article is intended to be written in US English, in which case "instalment" (UK spelling) should be written as "installment". Done - Link "sprites" to Sprite (computer graphics) - it is not necessarily obvious what this means if you're not a video game fan or developer Done
Reception
However, most reviews criticized the disorienting camera,[b] the bland environments,[c] and Bubsy's voice.[d]
- we cannot say in Wikipedia's voice that the camera objectively was disorienting, that the environments objectively were bland, etc. Reword to "criticized the camera for being disorienting" etc. Done- "Journalists" is not a proper noun, and should not be capitalized mid-sentence. Decapitalised
- Names of creative works including publications should be consistently italicized. This includes PSExtreme and NowGamer. Done
- The third paragraph features a lot of direct quotes, which can be a copyright problem - these should be paraphrased as much as possible, only sparingly using particularly illustrative quotes. Partly done
- The game is titled "Super Mario 64", not just "Mario 64". Copyedited
- Accolade has already been linked once in the article body, so you don't need to do it again here. Unlinked
- Berlyn has already been introduced in the article body, so you don't need to refer to him as "creator Michael Berlyn" again here. Unlinked
Legacy
Bubsy 3D is remembered as one of three 3D platform games released in 1996 established the template
- this should be "...in 1996 that established the template" Done
Images
- Cover art seems fine.
- A mid-action shot would illustrate the gameplay better than a shot of Bubsy just standing around. Added
- The screenshot's caption would be improved if it described what the image illustrates, rather than describing the image itself - ie rather than "Screenshot of the first level", describe the gameplay that is shown ("the player explores three-dimensional levels as the bobcat Bubsy" is an example that might work). Done
- We have freely usable photos available of several of the staff working on the game (see their respective WP articles) - one could be added to the development section.
- @Alexandra IDV: Actually, I could only find one free image of Marc Blank and some of Chuck Jones', there wasn't any more accessible on Commons... —beetricks ~ 💬 · ✉️ 13:38, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- Using those, as you have, should be fine.--AlexandraIDV 14:26, 6 August 2021 (UTC)

- This is not part of the GA criteria, but I would highly recommend adding alt text to all images, to aid readers with impaired vision.
References
- "Move Over 2D Arcade Games, Bubsy's Back in 3D..." is a press release, which is not clearly communicated from the citation - I would set Accolade as the publisher and use the "via=" parameter to display the name of the website it is accessed through Done
- Playstation Datacenter is a fansite, and not usable as a source on Wikipedia. Removed
- "Bubsy 3D: Clawing his Way Back After All these Years", PSExtreme, and Acao Games are fine as sources, but please don't link directly to unauthorized scans on retrocdn etc, even if that's how you happened to access the issues. (magazines archived on Archive.org are fine to link to) Removed links
Looks pretty good! I will put this on hold for the standard seven days - {{ping}} me if you have any questions or when you have addressed the above, and I will take another look.--AlexandraIDV 08:53, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Beetricks: I have responded to you above, and added one more point under Gameplay.--AlexandraIDV 14:27, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Beetricks: Apologies - I did not notice that you had responded to the final points, but I will go ahead and promote this now.--AlexandraIDV 16:10, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
