Why is the "bublik" name preferred over "obwarzanek"? At least one variety, the Krakow's obwarzanek ([1]) received significant press after having been recognized by EU as a unique, regional food. Note that the Polish name obwarzanek was used here. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here11:03, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If obwarzanek is unique, then why not create a separate article for it. E.g. in German section there are two separate articles: de:Obwarzanek and de:Bubliki. There are at least half a dozen of articles on the national varieties. There are distinct articles on Bagel and Montreal bagel; or Pretzel, Kringle, and Covrigi; etc. Bublik is the name used by some 200 million russians, ukrainians, belorussians etc. It has its own history, its own place in Russian and Ukrainian culture and even its own song (Bublitchki). --Off-shell (talk) 18:11, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
