[edit]I saw the tag on the front... Advertisement of what? -- 01:05, 15 August 2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.202.216.211 (talk)
This article had previously been deleted for Notability. I believe this now meets WP:N with these significant rewrites and the incredible amount of verifiable press this author has received in the intervening years. Whillice (talk) 15:29, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Removing advertising tag
[edit]I have attempted to contact the editor who placed the tag in the first place to discuss and had no reply. I do not believe this tag is correct. Surely this article can be improved, but as anonymous user pointed out, what exactly is this supposed to be advertising?
I'd like to gather people's comments then call for a vote over the weekend.

And now there is an extra tag for notability. I think that due to the DOZENS of independent media sources that this qualifies as notable. I also ask for discussion of whether this tag fits or not. Whillice (talk) 05:39, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Per WP:BASIC A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of multiple published[3] secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent of each other,[4] and independent of the subject.[5]
- This article has 16 independent sources, several of which refer to awards or accolades won by Mr. Young. Furthermore, his work on This Divided State is important, and that has existed as an article, indeed this article has previously redirected to there. Does anyone disagree with this logic? Whillice (talk) 04:16, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Seeing no disagreement with this logic and this having sat here several months, I'm removing the flag. Whillice (talk) 00:00, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
I have added the notability tag again as it seems the subject of this article does not seem to have ever had a book publishe furthermore the article does not note the extent of his role in many of the films listed. You don't get a Wikipedia article for being the sound guy on red dawn of you catch my drift Catdaddi (talk) 03:36, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
- According to imdb, which is a listed source on this page, it shows Mr. Young to have been a major contributor to both This Divided State and Killer at Large as a producer, editor, and AD. That's hardly being "the sound guy." You're right that those sections should be expanded to show his involvement.
- He also has numerous books published, which is visible from simply doing an Amazon search. That's 100% verifiable. Not sure why you're even claiming this other than willful ignorance. Lost at the Con was initially self-published, but subsequent books have been published by others, specifically Silence in the Library Press.
- Not sure why this is even a question when he has multiple independent articles on him, which is the primary qualifier for Notability.
- I do agree, however, that this article needs updating to include more of author's work as a podcaster and regular contributor to Star Wars Insider and StarWars.com. That section is thin and should be expanded, showing even more notability. Whillice (talk) 15:23, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
- Seeing no response to this or a reply on Catdaddi's talk page, I'm calling for a vote on removing the tag. I'll also be adding some new content this week on more recent works, but am not going to spend tons of time on a page where people are trying to have it deleted. Whillice (talk) 19:38, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- Seeing no objections, I'm removing the tag. Whillice (talk) 22:51, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

- @Whillice: To the contrary, even a cursory search makes it obvious that these novels were self-published; heck, the subject's handle on HuffPost is the same as the name of his "publisher." The citations for his books were links to Amazon pages or other catalogs, making them patent advertisement. I have drastically pruned this article back to better reflect the actual level of notability this person has.—Nonstopdrivel (talk) 19:37, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
