The Maple, Wisconsin talk page-matters relating to the Brule, Wisconsin article-
[edit]Please see the Maple, Wisconsin talk page for matters relating to the Brule, Wisconsin article. Thank you-RFD (talk) 13:47, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
The recent "redirection" by some unknown editor, and the resulting deletion of "Old Brule" as an article in Wikipedia makes it unavailable for research, editing or for sourcing in any form or fashion. It might be wise to create a way for this article and others that have been treated in like manner to be accessed, and then to be brought into conformity with Wikipedia policies and requirements. The information in the article was accurate and approached a neutral point of view, although it needed source reference. None of its contents made it into the Brule article. Its loss to the public is unfortunate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.209.69.67 (talk) 06:16, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
This old entry appeared on the deletion list for 2005. I am certain an Old Brule article appeared long after this date. Regardless, it has been impossible to find out where the article went.

Old Brule
[edit]Hi!
Type in Old Brule on google. This will bring up the old Old Brule wikipedia article. Go to cached, press that and that will bring up the old article. You will need to print it off as soon as possible for it will disappear.
2 modest suggestions:
- -1. You may want to do something on Old Brule on the Maple and Brule articles.
- -2. Again, I highly recommend signing up for a Wikipedia account. It is easy and has benefits especially if you need to start an article. Also you meet some very nice people on Wikipedia. Thank you-RFD (talk) 21:44, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the lead, but unfortunately it is too late. The article has been shredded. Highlighted fragments only... Some in the Old Brule organization are distressed by the initial deletion, and by the ignorance of the initial editor, regardless of Wikipedia requirements. The bulk of the article was built not on secondary references, but upon original research. The editor seems to have been too ignorant to realize this and failed to elicit commentary that would have provided more standing for the entry. The article had been linked to the Brule site by some other unknown editor who apparently recognized the value of the Old Brule entry (certainly not this writer), to no avail. One can only question the qualifications of those making these decisions. I did investigate "Journalist" and was dismayed that someone as thinly qualified as this person was making decisions on materials totally beyond his own experience, without seeking to at least preserve the information in some format. Why should someone have to go to a cached Google entry outside Wikipedia to track down valuable information that had been given freely and in the spirit of sharing to Wikipedia? It is apparent that Wikipedia cannot effectively handle original research. A lesson learned, and a mistake not repeated. The information which was a summary or abstract of the fuller research is in print elsewhere and available to those serious in their research on the topic. Thanks again, and best wishes. I'm sure there are sincere, responsible, and nice people at Wikipedia, as I believe you are one of them. Others have questionable qualifications and hurt the organization. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.209.66.37 (talk) 08:25, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- I started an article about Professor Ulysses Sherman Grant. It may clear help some confusion.
