Not sure who you are speaking to, or what "BRD" is supposed to mean. But the credit on the photo at commons are to [1], who seems to edit in Wikipedia too, as User:Harvey Milligan. And the photographer's location for the photo at the right doesn't appear to me to be on the course at all. It could be very far off the course, if taken by telephoto. More bad faith trolling. The understeer (mass/momentum/inertia) at the left-jink in the race direction causes the bikes to lurch towards the left as we see it, almost running it up against the kerb. Looks as if the camera/operator is positioned in one of the house front gardens, showing the middle-distance perspective compressed (foreshortened) in the usual way by a long lens - nice pic, with subject in a bit of shimmer framed against the sky and just the right mix of texture, highlights, shadows and good natural light balance.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 23:05, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The image breaches Wikipedia rules for image "Pertinence and encyclopedic nature" MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE as it is not possible to identify any location features other than than the bus stop sign. The title to the image "Anstey crests Bray Hill on the sixth lap of the 2015 Superbike TT" with edit 14:06, 11 June 2015 not match weather conditions for 2015 Suberbike TT Race.

The image also again breaches Wikipedia rules for image placement MOS:PERTINENCE (eg see 2015 Isle of Man Junior TT race for comparison) and photo may actually be a late afternoon practice session.

Summary for the BRD discussion is that image and title need to be identified. agljones(talk)21:29, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have revised the disputed image caption to a neutral level - there is no doubt it is Bray Hill, but the remainder that has been disputed is not needed for the article. MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE and MOS:PERTINENCE are both shortcuts to the same target. I dont intend to comment further but there appears to be too many similar images from the same source - four on Bray Hill when two would be better - and too much promotion of Padgett's brand - do they/did they have an IOM outlet?

The bike is approaching Bray Terrace (number 44 Bray Hill) around 23 of the way down Bray Hill from the 'crest' at St. Ninian's. The trees to the left and behind (Cordyline, spiky) the bike are on the corner of High View Road (uphill end), and the bus stop and telewag pole (brown upright with climbing foot brackets) are nearby, around 50 and 75 yards lower down respectively, all visible on Google streetview. The camera position would be near the bottom of Bray Hill. There is massive foreshortening from the lens making it appear as though it's at the crest, hundreds of yards away. Maintenance tag removal by an involved editor

I tagged this article as needing work due to a massive amount of fan-input, with too many emboldened headings and sub-headings and too-much trivial content, together with year-by-year, Race-by-Race reporting containing too much detail and unencyclopedic content.

The tags were removed by Harvey Milligan, who has been responsible for a large amount of expansion, without any reason and/or without explanation.

I have restored the tags with the appropriate message to the User's talk page, and have made a start to rectify some small part of this per WP:NPOV, WP:NOTBLOG and WP:EDITORIAL, but I haven't the time or - frankly - the inclination to undertake the massive re-write necessary. Thank you, Semperito. I would suggest you look at what the article consisted of before I began to contribute such as [[2]] [here], and explain how you see it as an acceptable, reasoned and informative article - as opposed to what the article now consists of.

Bruce Anstey has had a road racing career spanning across three decades, during which he has routinely competed at the three most dangerous and highest profile road races in the world. In that time he has established himself not only as one of the most successful, but also as one of the most prominent racers in his class - and I would suggest the article correctly relates to this. It would appear that you base your assumption on opinion, as opposed to fact, taking the easy way out by simply making a decision (carte blanche) without showing an example to which you relate and citing certain issues on the page, again without showing an example of your own work. I would therefore be grateful if you could illustrate an article to which you have originally contributed, or even enhanced, so as I may take my template. I am not, as you refer, a fan of Bruce Anstey, so that assertion would appear to be without foundation, again put forward on opinion rather than fact. I have contributed to and tidied up numerous articles concerning road racers - see Ian Hitchinson, John McGuinness, Ryan Farquhar and Conor Cummins amongst others. So as a contributor who has written in excess of 200 articles on Wikipedia, ranging through sand banks, motorcycle racers, mines, biographies and steam ships, to former Royal Air Force Stations. I also take it upon myself to give adequate information on all articles which I construct, including road racers, who when compared to others in the field of motorcycle racing, such as those of MotoGP, World Superbikes or even the British Superbike Championship would appear to be somewhat poorly represented.

Thank you for responding here, which would have been the correct place to raise the maintenance templates which you clearly resent, instead of removing them, breaching normal practice (hence the existence of a series of warnings - level 2 as it was deliberate by an involved individual), without comment or explanation.

I have previously tried to explain to you fancruft in relation to Rossi, etc., when you insisted on re-adding New Zealand flag contrary to WP practice.

Please leave the tags in situ - some can be seen exigent for years - I don't need to give examples of everyday practice. Perhaps a kind editor would be bold and correctly re-write this without the exuberances.

As you are aware, I am only an occasional editor and more interested in editing per se than creating a list of articles which obviously you value highly as your legacy. I have been ill for two/three weeks, so have been reading more as I couldn't type very well with one finger. Every article I look at requires work - the more extensive the need depresses me, so I go away, as I will do now.

I am not overawed by your edit-count, nor that of others. Everyone is the same on WP, irrespective of the Kudos you are ascribing to yourself. Please try to take any refererences to WP practice and policies (etc) objectively, ie., not as a personal insult. Please don't try to denigrate another editor driven by your opinion of your own article-creation record, as it comes across as schoolyard, knee-jerk, lashing-out. Think about it. I am trying to be a good Wikipedian and I hope you will, too.

The Anstey article is/has been seriously engorged (in common with Guy Martin), and has been a repository for an inappropriate blogging-style by yourself. There are far too many headings, sub-divisions and timeline breaks, with blow-by-blow accounts of the various classes and multiple-leg in seemingly every road racing event Anstey has participted in. It depresses me that when trying to read something it's been WP:BLOATed in this way. Please try to adopt a neutral style, using six words instead of twelve or fifteen. The extensive Table of Contents cannot be condensed.

I recently tried to update John McGuinness's article to reflect his serious injury, but I was too ill at the time of looking and couldn't easily see anything available online to cite. The edit history shows nothing major since 2016.

Well, that's been an interesting few minutes (hour!), but I'm meant to be gardenening now - much to catch up on after no activity there for weeks. I need to save this now as my computer is a bit unstable. Best, Semperito (talk) 11:11, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Having qualified strongly across the range of classes at the North West 200 in 2013
    However the weather was again the main talking point of the meeting
    However this was his only positive in the meeting
    again saw Anstey feature prominently in the opening race where he just missed out on a podium position
    An improvement followed in the feature Superbike race
    Unfortunately Anstey faired less well when he took the Padgett's Honda RS250R on to the closed roads
    Anstey's luck returned for the feature race
    A thrilling race saw Anstey dicing at the head of the pack
    Taking the lead midway through the lap at Joey's Windmill, Anstey held on to take the hnours
    Anstey put in a solid performance to come home second behind
    who claimed a popular hat-rick at the event

Basically, the information in the Complete TT Record is duplicated in the Isle of Man TT section 2.1 - 2.24 and the two can be combined to simplify and reduce the size of the article. An example of reducing the size of article can be followed in the structure of the Ray Amm or Ian Lougher articles. Perhaps editors may consider highlighting in the main part of the article space only two or three important races such as the wins in the 2002 Isle of Man Lightweight TT, 2003 600cc Production TT Race, 2016/2017 TT Zero Race, 2010 Ulster Grand Prix win or the disqualification from the 2008 600cc Junior TT Race. The same process of combining race results can also be followed for the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix.
