James Strong?

[edit]

What did he have to do with BDB? StAnselm 00:06, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He is listed as a contributor at the ISBN. I presume this is because the Strong's numbers are included in the BDB text as a cross-reference. It's probably more a case of acknowledgement than actual contribution. Feel free to remove his name if you think the ISBN note is misleading. I can see a good case for that, but I like the courtesy of the acknowledgement. Alastair Haines 16:09, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I've removed a link to something that claimed to be the "Gesenius, Brown Driver Briggs Lexicon." It wasn't. There's a whole bunch of abbreviated little copies of somebody's Hebrew lexicon floating around on the internet claiming to be BDB. Alephb (talk) 13:45, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Exact connection to NASB

[edit]

How is the "NAS Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon"/"Brown, Driver, Briggs, Gesenius Lexicon" (see here) exactly connected to the New American Standard Bible (NASB)? Probably a byproduct of the translation effort, but cannot find a clear & quotable source. And is it = the "New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible"? Alephb, maybe you would know? Please check my "See also" entry and add/fix whatever is needed. Thanks, Arminden (talk) 10:04, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
