I am having an extremely strange problem with the automatic citation tool. I've been away from editing for a while so maybe some things have changed? I've done several academic pages before with no problem at all but for this page I found a very good quality recent citation (New York Times, last year) but the generator won't recognize the url. So I tried a different one (Chronicle of Higher Education) and... it also won't work. I decided to leave this page and try editing a different article but encountered the same problem (again with the Times). I am happy to add manual citations but it seems pretty bizarre that such prominent sources don't seem to working. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance. I found the citer tool on one of the help pages and it works for all these sources, fully automated. That said, this still seems like a real problem (or I am just grossly ignorant of something!) In any case, using that I will come back later to continue working on this one. Profloab (talk) 07:52, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
