... that Bronx Skate Park has a quarter pipe, bank ramps with ledges, skate pyramid, and grind rails?Source: https://www.nycgovparks.org/facilities/skateparks- ALT1:... that Bronx Skate Park (pictured) was built to prevent accidents in a McDonald's parking lot? Source: "...proposed by the manager of a nearby McDonald's restaurant three years earlier; he saw that local kids were skateboarding in the restaurant's parking lot, and worried for their safety."[1]

- The hook right now doesn't sound very hooky: it sounds more like a local information guide than a DYK hook. Perhaps something else could be proposed here? The quotes about "Mayor of NYC State Parks" or the park being "stuck in the Stone Age" sound quite promising and could serve as bases for new hooks. - Yeah, I wasn't very happy with my original hook either. I've added ALT1. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:32, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- I made some slight formatting changes to ALT1 and struck ALT0. Full review will follow by the end of the day. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:41, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

- I'm thinking Allerton Skate Park 12.jpg might work better at the small size needed for DYK. Allerton Skate Park 06 makes more sense for the article, since it's an overview of the whole park, but it's too cluttered in a small size. Is it allowed to have one image in the article and a different one in DYK? -- RoySmith (talk) 01:06, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- Article meets DYK requirements and no close paraphrasing was found. ALT0 has been rejected due to interest concerns, leaving us with ALT1 which is cited inline and verified in the source. The linked QPQ appears to still be ongoing with regards to a hook decision, but as a full review has been done it will count for the purposes of this nomination. This is actually good to go; however final approval is on hold pending a decision on the image. With regards to the image, if it is to be used in the hook then it must be in the article as well. - I've gone ahead and swapped the image in the article. The Achieser-Zolotarev filter QPQ is actually done; I gave it a tick a couple of days ago. Maybe I should have moved that down to the bottom of the discussion to make it more obvious? -- RoySmith (talk) 16:19, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- I was aware of that, I meant the tick had been given but discussion was still ongoing on the exact hook wording. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 16:57, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

- Note: it might make sense to bundle this on the same day as Vinmont Veteran Park. -- RoySmith (talk) 16:41, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- @RoySmith: Are you planning to do a double hook or are you fine with this being a single-article hook? Once this has been clarified the nomination will be approved. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:06, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Narutolovehinata5, I'm afraid I'm not up on all the details of DYK process, so I'm not sure how to answer that. The two articles are both about Bronx parks, so I thought it made sense to run them together. Beyond that, I honestly don't know the details of how to best implement that in DYK. -- RoySmith (talk) 01:19, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- You can propose a hook that mentions both of the parks; this would be called a double hook. If you still wish to have the two run as separate hooks, I don't think the same day request would be granted as DYK prep editors try to avoid having more than one hook on similar topics running on the same day. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:41, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- OK, then let's just leave it the way it is, with two separate hooks, and let them fall on whatever days the prep folks go with. Thanks for your help. -- RoySmith (talk) 01:44, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
