Restorations
[edit]I've uploaded Gascó's renderings, File:Brontomerus_utahraptor2.jpeg and File:Brontomerus_Utahraptor.jpeg. The image currently on the page is very similar, though, so I'm not sure we want them all on the page. Any thoughts? ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 23:23, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware that image fell under creative commons rationale. I created the current image for the sole purpose of using it at Wikipedia, so I would really appreciate it not being removed entirely. I think it's okay to put both mine and one of Gascó's on the same page. Mine is representing the animal using its enlarged abductor muscles (lateral kick), and Gascó's is representing it using its enlarged femoral protraction muscles (forward kick), so the two pictures are illustrating slightly different phenomena. -Ferahgo the Assassin (talk) 23:48, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- He has graciously agreed to release it under cc-by-sa-3.0/GFDL. Yours does have a certain simple cleanliness that makes it nice for the taxobox, I think. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 00:05, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- For whatever it's worth, my opinion (as the lead author of the descriptive paper) is that the two restorations are very different in composition, tone and characters, and there is plenty of space for both to remain on the page.MirkMeister (talk) 16:21, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

I don't understand what is meant by "nestor" in reference to John McIntosh, and there is no link that explains it. Can we take this out? MirkMeister (talk) 22:46, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- That is a confusing metaphor; done. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 22:59, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Who was asked for the restoration, Taylor or Gascó? FunkMonk (talk) 05:14, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- What are you talking about? I asked Gascó if we could use his renderings. Is that what you mean? ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 07:31, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yup. FunkMonk (talk) 10:12, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
