Death circumstances questioned
[edit]His death date is given as 1 September 1939, the day the Germans invaded Poland but he is stated to have been captured after the Soviet invasion of Poland, which began on 17 September. A settlement of the discrepancy would be welcome. The Polish language article used as citation does not give a precise date or location and speculates he was killed by NKVD.Cloptonson (talk) 20:13, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- UPDATE - I have located a Polish language article on Polish footballers killed in WWII and have added it to this article as citation for his FC. As to his death cause, it states he died after being arrested by Soviet NKVD in Lviv.Cloptonson (talk) 19:42, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- I notice his Russian wikipedia article states he was killed on 1 September 1939 when Lviv was bombed by the Germans. However there is no mention in articles on the city or the 1939 Battle of Lvov that Lvov was air-raided by the Germans before the latter's ground troops encircled the city two weeks later.Cloptonson (talk) 07:22, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
