British Army Air Corps use

[edit]

I have moved the recently-added content about AAC Islanders to the Britten-Norman Islander article. It should be noted that the AAC have operated both Islander and Defender aircraft. Specifically:

  • seven BN-2T Turbine Islanders, designated Islander AL1, serials ZG844-848 and ZG993-994, were delivered from 1989 onwards, mainly for Op Banner (NI) use.
  • four BN-2T-4S Defender 4000s, designated Defender AL1, serials ZG995-998, delivered for Op Telic (Iraq) from 2004 onwards.
  • four more Defenders 4000s (three Defender AL2s, one Defender T3), serials ZH001-ZH004, from 2008 onwards, with another two (ZH005/006) possibly still on order.

In addition, the RAF also operate two Islander CC2 aircraft.

See [1], [2], [3].
