VC/GC
[edit]In the 'Awards' section, para 3, it states: '... the Victoria Cross would have been correct recognition but for some reason was not awarded. Capt. Mason could not have been awarded the VC since he was a civilian.'
I'm a little confused by this extract, particularly the first bit.
What do other editors think?
