Feedback from New Page Review process
[edit]I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: this wasn't specific to that one organization. redo to the general topic

- @AngusWOOF: - Why have you redirected British cultural Marxism to a UK manifestation of a conspiracy theory? Tewdar 19:29, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Cultural Marxism redirects to the page, so it would make more sense to redirect there than an organization that doesn't list that as their title / alias. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:01, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- You can discuss at the talk page whether it should be split off to something else. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:02, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- So because Cultural Marxism redirects to Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory, British cultural Marxism should therefore redirect to a subsection of the conspiracy theory, even though it has nothing to do with the conspiracy theory? Am I understanding this correctly? I have no idea what you mean by "splitting it off to something else". Tewdar 20:09, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Tewdar, it could redirect to Marxism in the United Kingdom. That's why it needs a discussion with folks who are more familiar with where this could go. I could put it up for RFD if you think it should be deleted. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:26, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- I think we should let
folks who are more familiar with where this could go
decide. I left a message on the Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory talk page, so some of the finest Marxist scholars in the world should be here soon to tell us exactly what to do. All the best. Tewdar 21:03, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

- The most appropriate target would be Cultural studies#British cultural studies. Sennalen (talk) 15:54, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's pretty good. Frankly anything at all would be better than the current redirect, along with its disgusting and ludicrous slander (in the sense of false and damaging, TINALT 😁) that 'British cultural Marxism' is a
title that contains a non-neutral, pejorative, controversial, or offensive word, phrase, or name
. Tewdar 19:48, 16 May 2023 (UTC)- For some reason, Tewdar, I thought you were carrying more ambivalence about the term "British" than this comment suggests. :) Newimpartial (talk) 19:55, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- I could understand it if the title were 'English cultural Marxism'... 👹 Tewdar 20:00, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- The issue with placing it there is that it doesn't discuss Cultural Marxism at all in the section. Also, it would need a hatnote to redirect folks looking for the pejorative version. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 00:27, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- 'British cultural Marxism' and 'British cultural studies' are the same thing, or very similar and interrelated at the least. British cultural studies evolved from British cultural Marxism. Nobody, literally nobody on the planet, is looking for the US-origin conspiracy theory when they look for 'British cultural Marxism', a term that predates the conspiracy theory and has absolutely nothing to do with it. Tewdar 07:25, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- Also, watch that capitalization. Many people find it deeply offensive if you write cultural Marxism with an upper case 'C'. Tewdar 08:27, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- OK, I am sending this to RFD. We need a broader audience. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 23:34, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
