History section

[edit]

This article needs a history section to describe rules modifications, notable drivers throughout the years and the name change from BSCC to BTCC. --Pc13 17:58, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Toca

[edit]

This article does not mention TOCA. Add it in. Also add video game references, ie the Toca racing series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.251.229.240 (talk) 01:44, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, slightly off topic here, but I used to love playing the PS1 TOCA game! :D Chevymontecarlo. 17:49, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Diesel Seat Leon not in BTCC 2009 ?

[edit]

From memory of catching some of last year's racing on ITV4, the diesel Seat Leons were absent it seemed. What happened? Why were there only Petrol powered ones? Anyone know? --Live Steam Mad (talk) 03:03, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Only petrol power allowed by 2011

[edit]

I've updated the section on fuels that said that LPG and diesel were allowed currently. I added that diesel was banned after 2008 and LPG after 2010. Mashzeroth (talk) 09:32, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re. Current Regulations

[edit]

Wouldn't be better to have this information on the relevant year page with a link to it from this page? Also the section states there were three different sets of regulations for 2011 (S2000, NGTC and BTCC) but ignores the hybrid NGTC engined S2000s. Mashzeroth (talk) 20:58, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ford as an American Manufacturer.

[edit]

I don't know what other peoples thoughts on this are but in terms of BTCC is Ford actually an American manufacturer? Surely most if not all of fords entries in the sport would have been made by Ford of Europe and in many cases won't have been sold in the US. (Morcus (talk) 22:26, 3 March 2012 (UTC))[reply]

BTTC Wiki

[edit]

considering a lot of important info is getting deleted i created a wiki for the bttc http://the-british-touring-car-championship.wikia.com/wiki/The_British_Touring_Car_Championship_Wiki currently we are in need of more editors to transfer and add more data.stormy44 (talk) 15:40, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Previous Champions

[edit]

I have noticed that the "Manufacturers Champion" entries in the "Previous Champions" table are subject to misinformed changes, e.g. the 1992 Manufacturers winner was recently changed from Vauxhall to BMW, presumably because the Drivers Champion, Tim Harvey, drove a BMW. The side by side format showing the Drivers/Manuafcturers/Teams Champions for each year does tend to lend itself to misinterpretation, especially when the make of car driven by the champion driver is not listed. Rather than amend the table on this page, I propose that we delete the table and simply refer the reader to the "List of BTCC Champions" page. That page has the Drivers, Manufacturers and Teams winners in separate listings and also lists the car(s) driven by the Drivers Champion. GTHO (talk) 01:41, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I've notices this wrong information, Ive just changed 2010 Jason Plato's because it said he drove for Honda? WTF? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.27.14.246 (talk) 16:04, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the wikilinks in this section are completely messed up with the text saying one thing and the link going somewhere completely different. I'll have a stab at fixing it when I'm on a Proper Computer. Mr Larrington (talk) 14:03, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, the Manufacturers' Championship column entries now point to the winner of that championship and NOT to the car driven by the drivers' champion. Likewise the Teams' Championship point to the actual winner thereof, not to the team of the champion driver. And it should all be consistent with the info on the "List Of BTCC Champions" page. I haven't put in running totals for the Teams because the likes of Dynamics, West Surrey and Ray Mallock have gone under several different names and even entered different makes. While I was at it I've put in the 2020 winners. Mr Larrington (talk) 16:28, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Once again I have found that the Manufacturers / Makes Champion column had been changed to reflect the car driven by the Drivers Champion rather than the actual champion Manufacturer / Make. I have corrected the entries in this column and added (Car) details to the Drivers Champion column in another attempt to prevent this from happening again. GTHO (talk) 04:52, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Teams/Drivers Information messed up.

[edit]

Hi, The Drivers and teams section at the bottom of the page is messed up, Ive only changed 2010 Plato's data but there is more that needs changing, Like Cleland who never raced for Renault… Plus a few others that i'm sure are incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.27.14.246 (talk) 16:02, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
