[edit]The use of the British Red Cross symbol is protected by law and it is questionable whether this is an appropriate use. You must request its use from the International Commitee, or at least the International Federation. It is important that any information on this page is input at least by a volunteer of the British Red Cross.
- You ar eabsoulutely cirrect in need rep[est copyright images and the need to consider fair use. However as to whom may add info about any given topic, as Wikipedia states on its main page: "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit". So no, anyone can (and will) add info if it collaboratively and constructively helps improve this article about a great organisation. David Ruben Talk 17:05, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- In fact this page is incorrectly using the Red Cross Emblem. In this context, the rules surrounding use of the emblem state that the cross must not be displayed on its own, and should always be accompanied by the national Society's name. I have removed the emblem until we can upload the 'correct' version. DAllardyce 10:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- I would say that an educational use of the emblem in the context of providing information about the Red Cross movement in general, or parts of the movement like the British Red Cross society in particular, is perfectly okay. By using the symbol to illustrate an article, Wikipedia does not attach itself inappropriately in any way with the Red Cross movement and Wikipedia does not use the symbol for commercial gain, both which would amount to a misuse of the indicative aspect of the symbol. Neither is such use in any way related to inappropriate application for protecting Wikipedia from being targetted by military attacks, which would constitute a misuse of the protective aspect of the symbol. --Uwe 16:15, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Food Parcels
[edit]The British Red Cross sent "over 20 million food parcels" to POWs
I have seen photos of the parcels being prepared in Britain, but how were the parcels, and letters to/from POWs, transferred from Britain to/from Germany in the middle of the war?
I thought that any shipping entering/leaving Britain was liable to attack, so was there a specific agreement for movement of each Red Cross boat, and how was this arranged?
Don't know where else to ask the question Arjayay (talk) 14:58, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
I believe cooperation with Germany was involved.--Wahmae (talk) 14:53, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Skin camouflage
[edit]Removed the reference to Skin Camouflage under 'Health & social care' as this service was discontinued in 2011. Britishredcross (talk) 14:26, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

New structure
[edit]The BRC underwent a restructure during 2016, and local areas are not what they used to be. Instead, the different services have a national management structure. I can't find any decent publicly accessible source for this, but if anyone else can, it's worth updating cannywizard (talk) 12:21, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
