87 tons of what?
[edit]What was contained within the body shell of the 87-ton Class 76 (and the 103-ton Class 77)? There was no diesel engine or generator (as in a diesel-electric machine, e.g. Class 37, weighing 100 tons) and no transformer or rectifier (as in an AC locomotive, e.g. Class 81, weighing 80 tons), so was it mostly full of resistors or ballast to increase the adhesive weight? 87.75.117.183 (talk) 18:22, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
