Dates don't make sense
[edit]How could the Legion have begun in 1857 and been disbanded in 1856? Historian932 (talk) 13:03, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- If you look at the article about the Major General, you'll find that he went to South Africa (Cape Colony) in 1857... the notion that the unit got disbanded in 1856 and this part of his biography makes it seem that the recruiting fraud does not belong to the Anglo-German Legion. --5.146.47.75 (talk) 10:01, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
Currency?
[edit]Why would british recruiting work with Dollars ($)??? Maybe you meant Shillings (12 pence or 1/20th Pound), which would work with the traditional name of the hiring bonus for conscripted soldiers as "the King's shilling", the taking of which meant you had agreed to the contract. But these are never abbreviated using $, rather s or l are used! Please recheck and correct! --5.146.47.75 (talk) 10:00, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
