Move to Bristol Constabulary
[edit]This article was originally at Bristol City Police, then moved to Bristol City Constabulary. User:82.45.32.128 has suggested that "Bristol Constabulary" is historically correct. Google very quickly turned up the following, which convince me this is the case.
- The history published around the time that it was subsumed into A&S was entitled "A Historical Review of the Bristol Constabulary"
- National archives index http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=002-bcc_4-2&cid=1-1#1-1
- Somerset archives index http://www1.somerset.gov.uk/archives/Police.htm

Thank you for taking on board my edit. At the time I made the suggestion I did not know that I needed to create an account. I shall not be so anonymous now. My brother served in Bristol Constabulary and I served in Avon and Somerset Constabulary and still have documents with the Bristol Constabulary heading as these were still in use after the change over in April 1974.Filton boy (talk) 21:24, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. Welcome. I spent some time working at KWH when it was the Police Training College, BTW. William Avery (talk) 07:48, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
I started at KWH 38 years ago next week. We were never allowed on the central staircase as it was the finest example of a suspended staircase surviving from that period. I will stop now as I am going off topic and probably breaking the talk rules. Filton boy (talk) 09:04, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
