Edits concerning Bristol Arena's future
[edit]In December 2017, there have been a number of edits concerning the future of Bristol Arena. However these edits have erroneously described the project as scrapped - which it is not. The future of the project is in doubt in its current form - with a review commissioned by Bristol City Council looking at the project's value for money cited in this article.
However, despite being uncertain, the project is still officially progressing - planning permission was granted and funding is agreed, and a tender process has been underway. Furthermore, the suggestions that the current project could be scrapped propose instead that the arena could be built by converting the Brabazon Hangar at Filton - and so the project should not be considered scrapped at this stage.
The original edits were reverted on 22 December, to remove false claims. The page has since been edited further, re-emphasising that the project has been scrapped, and additionally removing the project's infobox on the page, for no apparent reason. I agree that it is important that the recent uncertainty of the project's future should feature on the page, but I suggest that this is achieved by adding an additional section to the page to this effect, opposed to presuming that the project will be scrapped when no decision to this effect has been made.
I have not reverted these edits at this stage, as I don't wish to engage in edit warring, hence my contribution here on the talk page. Sophiebastienne (talk) 00:49, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
Update: I have just noticed that the Internet Archive Bot has restored the page's infobox and other edits - three minutes before I posted this section. Good work wikipedia! Sophiebastienne (talk) 00:52, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
