Timeframe of the briquet as false genitals?

[edit]

Can anybody provide a reference to the use of "false genitals" beneath 14th-century tunics? It would seem that such accessories would be more suitable to late 15th-century fashion, when men's coats did grow short enough to require the wearing of codpieces or at least a cod-flap, and if there's no source that can prove the false genitals' existence and use in the 14th century then I suggest modifying the information to say "fifteenth century" instead.
