plenn pehs or bridies

[edit]

The subject of the quoted Dundee shibboleth that I've always heard is "pehs" (Dundonian for pies), not bridies. This version should be cited (and the other would be irrelevant). Mutt Lunker (talk) 23:01, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since you don't get onion pies in dundee, that's unlikely. It's bridies —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.83.108.10 (talk) 09:53, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Be that as it may, Googling the phrase "and an onion one as well" mainly throws up references to the Dundonian version with pies/pehs, but some with bridies instead, one of which [1](from Scotland on Sunday) may be regarded as pertinent and a reliable source. There is a school of thought which would suggest that if it doesn't have ingins it's not a "proper" Forfar Bridie. What do Dundonians know about bridies anyway? Panama1958 (talk) 18:11, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
