Brian Tse (entertainer)Brian Tse (singer) – Per WP:CRITERIA 2 sources the nearest thing to a press clipping show 謝東閔 as a singer - having been eliminated from TVB talent show 超級巨聲 The Voice (Hong Kong). He is dabbed (singer) (歌手) on Chinese Wikipedia. The references to TVB soaps are misleading, the credits do not show him in the main cast. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:48, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment in Asia it's fairly common for minor celebrities to make lots of random television appearances even if they're not necessarily know as television personalities. Do you happen to have any source that indicates whether this person is better known for singing or for acting? 168.12.253.66 (talk) 18:40, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well to be honest he's not really notable either as singer (he covers songs) or actor (bit roles). Most of Chinese Google mentions merely indicate him appearing in panel games and chat shows or being pretty. He "歌手謝東閔" singer Xie Dongmin gets 97 plain Google hits, minus "演员、歌手谢东闵" actor-singer 8 hits, "演员謝東閔" actor Xie Dongmin gets 49 hits (no need to minus "歌手、演员谢东闵" since no one says geshou-yanyuan, singer-actor). So (singer) is best of a bad bunch. Brian Tse (TV personality) is almost as crawly as (entertainer), and since the cartoonist Brian Tse also occasionally gets TV appearances is probably not helpful. I agree that "TV personality" is almost as lousy for disambiguation as "entertainer". If we started disambiguating people as John Doe (minor celebrity), that would be even worse. Brian Tse (singer) is probably the best option, and as you say it's how the Chinese Wikipedia handles him, so I would support this as the least bad option. 168.12.253.66 (talk) 14:47, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
