Namiba, perhaps I should have used this talk page earlier to avoid any misunderstanding about my reversion of your edit. This edit added a source with a title invoking the Governor’s name, with the implication that the subject of this biography, a living person, is an ally of the Governor.

I don’t know much about Maine politics, but I do know that their Governor is a highly controversial figure and that’s what got my attention. Was this a neutral point of view?

So I went to the source (The Maine Beacon) and found that although I personally applaud almost all of their work, they cheerfully and proudly assert that they are an advocacy organization working to promote legislation and they make no claim to a neutral point of view. So, it is a smart move on their part to try to link Democratic politicians to a radical Republican Governor in order to pressure them on an upcoming vote, but it’s not the sort of thing where Wikipedia should be enlisted for aid and publicity.

It seems to me that the Position statement you added is valid with the Bangor Daily News as its source; an undeniably neutral publication. You really don’t need to add the controversial second source.

Obviously you care deeply about this issue and I can see why, but I hope I’m able to persuade you here. Let’s drop the Maine Beacon citation. OK? Postazoic (talk) 00:21, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm adding the Portland Press Herald source which indicates that some Democratic Representatives may be acting upon requests by their constituents and with no regard for the Governor's views. For the record, I don’t mean to argue that all sources should be NPOV. But because of the unique character of this particular Governor, linking him to a subject of a BLP seems almost defamatory. The Maine Beacon source offers no evidence to support the wording of the title. It is, in fact, highly unlikely that the eight Democrats had any contact with the Governor, much less “joined” with him. The wording of the title seems similar to writing that someone joined neo-Nazis in support of free speech or whatever. Postazoic (talk) 07:10, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
