I believe that the page does not in fact break any copyright rules as the passage is only adapted from a passage in a book, rather than being ripped straight out. i had done my best to turn the passage into my own words using the facts and anecdotal material from the book. If i am wrong and there is a rule against re-wording existing material from print, or if the passage needs to be further diluted and/or altered in order for it to be more dissimilar to the passage in the book then i wouldn't more than happy to accept your decision or the task of re-doing the page. I interpreted "This section was taken from the book..." to mean exactly what it says, a self-accusation of copyright violation. And the jokey phrase "Brian Crump was a pillar - not a very tall one" looked like it was lifted straight from a book. I've removed the challenge, changed the attribution to a reference in the standard style, and removed the joke. I'll take your word that the text doesn't follow the structure and phrasing of the book, though a couple of phrases still look suspect (they look less encyclopedic and more as if they were written as a light read for a cricket fan ~ "trundling", "boy"). Please check what I've done, especially that I've got the right book. Regards, Bazj (talk) 06:18, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for fixing it, some bits were quotes from the book, and it is the right book that you have referenced. I'll try and be clearer in the future when using and re-wording passages from books... Steelback (talk) 13:00, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
