Internship at Science magazine

Briahna Gray, 2006 Intern

From the beginning, my experience at Science was one of independence and discovery. Given the freedom to pursue the subjects of my choosing and to write and research with minimal guidance, the internship taught both the skills of the trade and how to use them to the greatest effect. From day one we were expected to use an array of internet tools to seek out stories that we thought were worth reporting on. While this was initially disconcerting, it soon became clear that choosing the story—being able to recognize not only what was news worthy but what would make a good article for Science—was as important a skill to nurture as any other.

Here's the one Science article I found.

BJG mentioned on Bad Faith that she was a history of science major.

Synthesis

WP:SYN is the combining of separate sources to develop an assertion that neither source supports in total. That's what's going on with this WP:DOB. DOB is one of the more sensitive areas of WP:BLP so unless someone can come up with a reliable source that explicitly states her date of birth, please do not restore her date of birth. Toddst1 (talk) 15:33, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

You weren't very "sensitive" about randomly accusing me of edit warring without any context. I was following bold, revert and talk, but you were just mad I reverted YOUR edit, and jumped the gun because you're an Admin and feel like you can. -- Sleyece (talk) 16:29, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

Recent edits & reversions - *not* about DOB...

A large chunk of text with references has been removed, repeatedly, and I am wondering as to the exact why for some of it.
Now, I can understand removing the Gravel Institute/YouTube linkage - that citation says nothing about Ms. Gray. I can understand the removal of the DOB as SYNTHESIS. (As an aside to at least one edit summary, I would like to mention - per Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#YouTube - that a YouTube link can be used as a ref, if the account is a reliable source's official account.)
Now, on to the large chunk of text with references:

Since Sanders' 2020 Democratic primary campaign ended, Gray has returned to her role as contributing editor at Current Affairs in addition to co-hosting the Bad Faith podcast with Chapo Trap House co-host Virgil Texas. One of the podcast's most discussed episodes was an October 2020 debate with Noam Chomsky, who implored listeners to vote for Joe Biden as a second Trump presidency would be more detrimental for the world; Chomsky has referred to the Republican Party as one of the most dangerous organizations on Earth, largely due to the party's actions regarding global warming.[1] Conversely, Gray and Texas argued that progressives should only be willing to vote for one of the major parties if certain standards are met.[2][3]

The above text is sourced from The Independent & Current Affairs - The Independent, especially, is generally as being reliable and Current Affairs , while perhaps not reliable for matters against its editorial stance, would be reliable for proving that Gray works there now and for other possibilities (I am not familiar with the third source - Areo Magazine). I guess I'm missing something because I don't see why that entire section should be removed - if someone could lay out what the issue is, that would be helpful...otherwise shouldn't at least some of this content be restored? I would keep Since Sanders' 2020 Democratic primary campaign ended, Gray has returned to her role as contributing editor at Current Affairs in addition to co-hosting the Bad Faith podcast with Chapo Trap House co-host Virgil Texas. and cut the rest. I can't find a source that supports that the Oct 2020 episode was one of the podcast's most discussed episodes, and the specifics of the debate are WP:UNDUE for Gray's biography. Just my 2¢. I also agree with Schazjmd. -- Sleyece (talk) 22:37, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
Schazjmd's solution is fine with me. I just didn't want to change/add/edit that section and inadvertently wade into some other issues I was unaware of... Shearonink (talk) 02:07, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
