Brewster Catering to Tourism?
[edit]Brewster, located along in the Heart of Cape Cod, is a fantastic Town of outdoor beauty, situtated along the beautiful shores of Cape Cod Bay, almost exactly midway between the Cape Cod Canal and its two bridges and the tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown. In Brewster the choices of outdoor recreation for visitors to exerience is extensive with unparralled enjoyment from miles of Bay beaches, several beautiful freshwater lakes, 9 Town Beaches-with 7 on the Bay and 2 on Freshwater lakes, our own Minor League Baseball Team, miles of the Cape Cod Rail Trail to traverse, the Punkhorn Parklands with over 45 miles of marked Hiking, Cycling and Bridlepath Trails, the Brewster Natural History Museum, Golf Courses, the Gristmill and Herring Run, and so much more for those who come to Cape Cod, and Brewster to experience and enjoy Cape Cod's natural beauty. Once visitors experience Brewster, it begins what typically becomes a long lasting love affair between most visitors and Brewster. For decades many have agreed that Brewster is the heart of Cape Cod-in ways not limited to the geographic location of our beautiful town.
Sweetwater Forest Family Campground, established in 1958, and family owned and operated since, is just 2.9 miles from Exit 10 off Rte 6, and about a mile from Cape Cod Bay. Towns and the times change, yet today, although Sweetwater Forest, and the abutting horse breeding establishment, Sweetwater Farms, both of which share a common driveway which exits off what is known as 676 Harwich Rd, Brewster, MA 02631, remain a treasure to those who enjoy camping and RVing, as it has for decades.
The central Cape Cod location of Sweetwater Forest, about a mile from Cape Cod Bay, provides the perfect "home base from" from which visitors are able to tour all the Cape and Islands have to offer, whether staying for the weekend-or the season.
At Sweetwater Forest our family continues catering to Cape Cod's Campers & RVers, just as we have since opening in 1958. Nickerson State Park, located at the easterly end of our Town does not offer hookups, and as a State run Park is subject to budget cuts, which was evident when the State Park remained closed after the micro burst that slammed Brewster a few years ago. Memorial Day Weekend was a wet one in 2013, yet despite the weather Sweetwater Forest was still nearly full. The web site www.sweetwaterforest.com shows just what Sweetwater Forest brings to the fabric of our hometown of Brewster-families who enjoy spending time together, and who love Brewster and her miles of Bay Beaches, lakes, Biking, Hiking, shopping and so much more that is offered in Brewster! Our family established Sweetwater Forest in 1958, when we had no neighbors. Today, more than half a century after opening for our first summer, we are still going strong.
Sweetwater Forest is rated on Trip Advisor as the 2nd highest ranked specialty place to stay in Brewster, right behind Ocean Edge-a facility quite different than Sweetwater Forest's 75+ acres of Native Cape Cod Woodlands with ameneties, conveniences and services, with campsites suited for tents to large RVs, and frontage on a freshwater lake is a home away from home for about 800 people each evening. Nickerson State Park,is beautiful but is a state run facility, without modern amenities, electricity, entertainment, or a Dog Day Care Center, which is all offered at Sweeetwater Forest. Please suggest us to Brewster, Massachusetts on Facebook. Other campgrounds in Brewster, Massachusetts, are listed on the Brewster, Masschusetts Facebook page, despite each of them ranking behind us in consumer reports, from Trip Advisor, and Yahoo Travel, these other campgrounds are listed on the Brewster Massachusetts Face Book Page, but we are not. Is there a reason? How did the other Campgrounds and places get listed? Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cape Cod Cowgirl (talk • contribs) 23:16, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
