Etymology
[edit]All these articles keep giving the etymology of the suffix "-gard" as a corruption of Slavic "-grad", but there was considerable Scandinavian influence in the area. Can someone cite a source for the Slavic one to verify whether or not the origin is really Slavic?--JonnyLightning (talk) 15:23, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
