No longer controversial
I removed the controversial tag, as the controversy appears to be long since passed. --Xyzzyplugh 17:57, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Weasel Words
This section is where they are: "As such, his marital status is not certain; some sources have cited Loree McBride as his wife, while others maintain that the two are not married." There is no reference at the end of the article. Is there a place to refrence to? And please, whoever keeps editing out the template, please provide an explanation or stop.
- IMDB says married, but IMDB can be sometimes wrong... StargateX1 18:26, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Added www.imdb.com as source. - 12th Feb 2006
I heard somewhere that Brent Spiner was on the soap "One Life to Live" briefly in 1972. Does anyone know if it is true?
Music Career
No mention of his album Ol' Yellow Eyes? MKV 23:14, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Typo
Corrected what I assume is a typo: Spiner currently lives in Los Angeles. He maintains a high level of piracy->privacy about his personal life. Vince 10:23, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Marriage(?)
So various sources appear to state that he has or hasn't married. I've edited the section to something non-commital at the moment, but can anyone shed any light on this? --Gekedo 20:49, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, ask the man himself. He will tell ya - that he isn't. If you can't do that, check the credible resources.
Well...since we don't all have the luxery of asking the fellow, the current article should be sufficient, unless you can cite a document quoting Spiner as stating this. --Gekedo 20:49, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
MySpace and Youtube Userpages
Has or can someone prove these are really Brent Spiner's? If not, the MySpace link should be taken off from the article.
Zidel333 22:54, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- given that the myspace link above shows an invalid ID, and that a myspace page is not a very credible source in general, I'm removing it.
Akevin 21:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
His real userpage is http://www.myspace.com/realbrentspiner as directed from his site, but is a persons myspace page really something that should be in their wikipedia article?--74.131.91.57 (talk) 06:41, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Date of birth??
May sound a bit confusing, and it is. I heard Brent Spiner in an interview from 1991 (while doing Star Trek TNG) saying that he is twenty-seven years old. That would give him a date of birth in the mid-sixties and not late forties.
Or was he just joking (which is also possible)?? Evanghelos 16:05, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Good luck...
I'll be stunned if Wikipedia ever gets to put up clear and consistent citations regarding anything even remotely personal about Brent Spiner. The man is singlehandedly running a self misinformation campaign. I would guess he does it on purpose because he thinks it's funny (which it is). Otherwise, given some of the stuff on the internet people have said he's said about himself, he's not exactly sane. 24.180.105.172 06:40, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Marital Status
According to the IMDb profile for Loree McBride, they are married but his profile doesn't state that. I now see that Answers.com has the same information wiki did before I tried to get rid of the weasel words. I suppose weasel words are better than incorrect info so I'll put the old text back. :-( ZouBEini 19:47, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Assessment
I have added a quality assessment rating and importance rating to this article. Feel free to change them as the article improves! Also, feel free to add more issues to the list below, and strike them out (strike) when they're completed. — OranL (talk) 22:56, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Notable issues
- Some statements are not cited in-line.
- References should be changed to conform to Wikipedia's how-to guide for citing sources.
Audition
How am I to cite this information - as the article reads this is what he said at the FanExpo convention —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.231.253.250 (talk) 23:23, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
I suggest this be removed if it can not be cited unless someone can come forth with a link to a source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jroesslein (talk • contribs) 04:11, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and removed this section. It seemed out of place and didn't really add good content to this page. Feel free to rework it with cited sources. Jroesslein (talk) 22:44, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Early Career
I watched a Hill Street Blues season 5 episode on Virgin1 (UK) this morning, with Brent doing a small role as a producer of porn films. He's credited but I don't know the episode number, from I guess 1985. Anyone know any better details? Theoldgoat (talk) 22:00, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Definite Marital Information
On Brent Spiner's webpage www.therealbrentspiner.com, in the 'links' section, there is a link to a radio interview he did with Dave Rabbit. In the interview, he refers specifically to Loree McBride as his "girlfriend".69.245.127.142 (talk) 00:32, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Why say that CBS Twilight Zone is “short lived"?
Why say that the CBS eighties "Twilight Zone" was short lived? It seems needlessly pejorative. I mean Mr. Spiner was in episode 54, and it lasted three seasons, with a total of 64 epiodes, which is more than a lot of shows. Is it an attempt to denigrate that series, and his work?Jock123 (talk) 08:10, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

What is that with his lips? Looks as if he had pumped silicone in there... Or what is that supposed to depict? -andy 92.229.90.53 (talk) 20:55, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- his tongue is sticking out a bit. Vinithehat (talk) 04:59, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Following discussion with editor Nightscream, I am substituting a fair-use image of Brent Spiner's signature character, without which a comprehensive understanding of the article is significantly diminished, in place of a redundant, second image of Spiner taken in the same year as the infobox image and showing highly identical appearance. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:15, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- The image inserted by Tenebrae was quickly removed by another editor, citing Wikipedia's Fair Use Policy as the reason. However, I have reviewed the WP: page, and it appears to me that the image IS allowed (see ¶ 2.1.3 Images, Item 5). Therefore I have re-inserted it in the Brent Spiner wikipage. I hope we can come to a consensus on this issue. Regards Raymondwinn (talk) 14:30, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

Personal Life
The article says the following:
"...he was influenced by drama teacher Cecil Pickett—father and coach of actress Cindy Pickett and future actors Randy Quaid, Dennis Quaid, Trey Wilson, Robert Wuhl, and director Thomas Schlamme."
Was Cecil Pickett the father and coach of all those actors, or were they additional influences in high school? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Novanglusva (talk • contribs) 02:45, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- On the subject of his personal life, why is there no mention of his wife? Or is Gail right in her conspiracies? :O 121.211.56.55 (talk) 02:02, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Brent Spiner's website
His site is currently not available (therealbrentspiner.com). Should it be noted somewhere on the page? Will it be coming back soon? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.132.169.211 (talk) 04:31, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
The site is back up. If possible, I would suggest that this Talk section should be removed.
The site is fake. It was created by one of his stalkers. http://www.gabriellechana.com/trueblue7.htm — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:C1:C003:2760:0:0:0:3 (talk) 04:22, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
Jewish?
(Nothing to do with stepfather Sol Mintz). A number of websites assert that mother Sylvia's surname was Schwartz and that both Schwartz and father Jack Spiner were from Jewish immigrant families. One example is IMDB, but I don't know if wikipedians count that as reputable. No mention of Brent Spinter in the Jewish Actors or Jewish Americans categories. tharsaile (talk) 19:42, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
Talk before rollback
Dear Smuckola. Could you please explain this rollback instead of (ab)using the Edit summary? The image which I inserted is clearly better in terms of quality and appropriateness. This is my opinion, of course, and you have a different opinion, but what matters is the purpose. You have a different opinion that I respect, but the fact is: you are trying to impose your opinion using rollbacks, I am trying to improve the article. Your attitude is not collaborative at all, could we speak? Thanks. --Lucas (talk) 07:38, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Missing a film
Somehow, this article has managed to miss Spiner's role in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge with Halle Berry.
Controversial
Why does this talk page have a controversial template? I can't see anything controversial, either about the article itself or the talk page. I'm going to remove it if nobody produces significant arguments to the contrary in the next few weeks. --Ef80 (talk) 20:59, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
- I've now found some incomprehensible talk page edits by deranged female fans in 2005. Is this the reason for the template? It was 16 years ago! --Ef80 (talk) 12:10, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- I have removed the template from the talk page. --Ef80 (talk) 16:07, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
