Value
[edit]Is there any estimate yet of the market value? How much is the musuem planning to appeal for? These details could perhaps be added to the article. Thanks. 109.155.134.117 (talk) 21:27, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
- No real point in speculating on what it will be valued at (no doubt the "quality" newspapers will have a go), and the museum have stated that "We do not yet know what the value will be however it will not be low". You can probably make an educated guess by comparison with the Frome Hoard which was valued at £320,250 for 52,503 coins from the same period -- so about £25,000 I suppose, but if the coins are better quality the value may be higher. However we'll need to wait for the Treasure Valuation Committee before we can put a value in the article. BabelStone (talk) 21:58, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
Unclear? "The excavation showed that the hoard had not been buried in the open, as is the case with most Roman hoards, but had been deposited in the remains of a villa."
Is it the case with most Roman hoards thet they are not buried in the open? Or am I being obtuse? NitPicker769 (talk) 06:14, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- I agree, it is not worded very well, and so have changed it so that the meaning should now be clear. BabelStone (talk) 00:48, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
