Am discussing alterations to main Breastfeeding page, on the talk page, to improve the section on breastfeeding & HIV. But I think that this page also needs some alterations.
In particular reference needs to be made to new WHO advice, which suggests that national governments should make policy on whether hiv positive women should exclusively breastfeed or formula feed. AFASS wording is not now recommended to be used, because too many people don't understand it.
I don't think that breastfeeding for HIV positive mothers is any longer a highly contested public health concern, so both paragraphs 1 & 2 need major alterations.
Does anyone have a view on this?
