Trouble cross-referencing to existing Wikipedia article

[edit]

Originally, the list of fish included "Brama" as a link, but if you clicked on that link, you would be redirected to an article on Wout Brama, a Dutch footballer, found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wout_Brama/.

Clearly, what it should link to is the fish called Brama. There is a stub article for this genus of fish at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brama_(fish).

However, when I try to include the reference under the name "Brama" and use the "Brama (fish)" url, it looks OK, but the link fails, saying that no such article exists. I have tried doing it with and without the underscore and neither works. I have also tried using   in place of the underscore, but that doesn't work either.

It's possible that "Bream" may need a disambiguation page, but for just two uses I don't know if it's worth it. Anyway, I just left it as "Bream (fish)" in the text and that works. If anybody can figure out how to get just "Bream" to show up in the text, but link to the fish article, please let me know, or just fix it here. Ileanadu (talk) 19:05, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not quite sure what trouble you were having. If it was getting the link to Brama (fish) to display as Brama, I've taken care of it. Plantdrew (talk) 19:46, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
