correct numbers and types of brazilian armed forces
[edit]Hi, Wikipedia!
My name is Ricardo Santos and i shold like to make a correction about your article Brazilian Armed Forces in the topics Brazilian Air Force and Brazilian Army. The correct ordered number of CASA 212-400 to Brazilian Air Force is 20, others 30 should be purchased by regional airlines, the final option to Brazilian Air Force can be a total of planes to replace the EMB 110. Brazil is studing to purchase too 40 russian helicpters: 28 Mi 171 and 12 Mi 35. The correct types of main service rifles are FAL and MD97, the initial indigerous type MD2 was purshased in its civil version by Rio de Janeiro State police. Best regards, 201.8.2.191 20:24, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Ricardo Santos
- If you can cite a source for these numbers, you're more than welcome to add these to the article yourself.--chris.lawson 20:34, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
a question of an ignorant
[edit]sorry about my ignorance, but I must ask: what does the symbol ° stand for? how is supposed to be read? Thank you! Zkip 11:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- See Degree symbol for the answer to your question.--Dali-Llama 11:45, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer, but I still couldnt figure it out. Zkip 12:21, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
In the context of this article, like "I FAe 1º/5º GAv C-95 Fortaleza", the 1º/5º GAv is much like saying 1st or 2nd (the "st" and "nd" part being the English equivalent to the Portuguese "º"). So 1º would be "Primeiro" (First) and 5º would be "Quinto" (Fifth).--Dali-Llama 15:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

BRAZIL AND PAK FA
[edit]hi, i read about a brazilian participation on the PAK FA project. has anyone new/further information on that??? (Samar60 (talk) 11:07, 26 October 2008 (UTC))
Don't include information without sources
[edit]201.74.154.205 includes many information without sources. Unfortunately, these edits are incorrect. For example, Skyhawks are operated by Brazilian Navy (see article), but he includes them in Air Force invenctory. Other informations are out of date (number of Impala/Xavante) and some other mistakes.
If 201.74.154.205 needs more explanations, i will return in a few days. 201.19.239.209 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:49, 5 March 2009 (UTC).
Programme title: F-X2 ... FX-2 ... FX2 ... ?
[edit]Hi all, I have changed all to F-X2, but looking here [1] there is no consistency at all. Anyone know which is the authoritative title for this programme? Regards, Springnuts (talk) 11:40, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Translation into English may hinder this. FX-2 works with most English language sources and does not conflict with current programs in other nations, so I suggest creating that. Hcobb (talk) 20:30, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Brazilian Air Force
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Brazilian Air Force's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "uboatnet":
- From German submarine U-507: "The Type IXC boat U-507 - German U-boats of WWII - uboat.net". uboat.net. Retrieved 26 February 2010.
- From German submarine U-199: "The Type IXD2 boat U-199 — German U-boats of WWII". UBoat.net. Retrieved 9 March 2010.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 09:16, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- I am a simple human and ran into this as well. I found the edit that seemed to introduce the reference and have asked the editor to flesh it out or fix it if possible. See User talk:Grant65#Reference missing on Brazilian Air Force from back in July.
- Fixed User:Grant65 was kind enough to fix this up.--Arg342 (talk) 18:05, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Link Broken
[edit]A link which cites the U.S. Congress would approve technology transfer for Boeing's F-18s to the Brazilian Government, seems to be unavailable.

Sabotaging the article
[edit]For some reason, all of my latest contributions to this article have been erased. Besides, anonimous editors have been adding wrong information to the article(mainly the "1980, 1990 and 2000s" section and adding "Aircraft withdrawn from service", which is incorrect. I ask for the regulators to limit new editions to logged in editors only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imtoohumble (talk • contribs) 20:05, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Supposed gun camera showing an RAF Vulcan
[edit]The gun camera is NOT AN F-5 gun camera image. The symbology is from a Mirage III and most likely from a RAAF Mirage gun camera showing an RAF Vulcan being intercepted during an exercise in the 1960s or 1970s.
